PRAISE FOR SHUT UP AND KISS ME

Hughey has penned a humorous, poignant tale
complete with mouth-watering descriptions of food and hilarious secondary characters, especially the
stealth moms. Simply delicious.

The one word description I'd use to describe my reaction to Carolyn Hughey's "Shut Up and Kiss Me" is: delicious.

The novel is the literary equivalent of a very tasty and satisfying meal. A combination of bountiful portions of sweet and savory ingredients, dished up by someone who knows what she's talking about when it comes to chefs, humor and romance.Shut Up and Kiss Me (Avalon Romance)

To keep the food analogy going, "Shut Up and Kiss Me" made me hungry for more of Ms. Hughey's creations.

Hopeless romantic, Ellana Licari, has her sights set on the tall, dark and handsome, Nick Soranno. With the help of the two meddling Mamas, she’s determined to show him she’s The One - not that scrawny redhead who’s rapidly becoming more than his casual ‘flavor of the month’.

Convincing Nick to stop thinking of her like his sister won’t be easy, but Ellana’s about to up the ante to break up the relationship and leave this new one in a cloud of dust.

But is it working?  Not as well as she’d expected.  But that’s okay because now Ellana’s canoodling with the Italian stallion, Giovanni Cavallini, to make Nick jealous.  Of course, Giovanni was only too happy to oblige—he had his own agenda, and now that she’s gotten Nick’s attention, is it too late for him?

ROMANCING THE CHEF'S TOQUE SERIES

Dishing Up Romance - February, 2012 - Book One - includes 30 plus recipes

Cassie Pirelli is at it again in her ongoing saga of denial.  Past mistakes with romance have left her scarred.  But we’re banking on a change!  But by comparison, those scars are minor compared to the ones she now faces.  A lost job, a new career, giving up the apartment she so loves in the Village, and Mama’s ongoing nag fest about marriage and grandbabies.

But fate didn’t get that memo, and neither did Papa who’s joined forces with Mama.  Despite their attempts, Cassie holds strong to her conviction to favor professional success over personal relationships . . . that is until the arrival of Mr. Rock-hard Chest Contractor Guy who could throw her plans right down the commercial garbage disposal.

With a new career as a chef, Cassie devises thirty recipes she happily shares.  But will these recipes test her resolve or lure her into a world of love?

One Menu at a Time - August, 2012 - Book Two

When Jamie Burke becomes guardian to her three-year old niece, her family is first in line to turn up the heat to get her hitched. But Jamie's more stirred up about finding the right job to fit her culinary profession.  A failed attempt at a personal chef service doesn't exactly have her phone ringing off the hook, but her overdrawn bank account and non-payment of bills does.

Maybe it’s fate that forces her to become a private chef to Chase Walker, a NASCAR Sprint Cup contender and spoiled celebrity, and her family is serving him up as Jamie’s Amuse-bouche.

After his injury leaves him a full-time spectator in the racing world, his temper is hot enough to burn the rubber off any tires.  But will it destroy the already fragile bridge he believes he’s created with Jamie?  Does hoofing it through the gridlocked traffic give you a clue?

Another job and another mother whose been trying to get her son married more years than Jamie’s been alive thinks she’s his perfect mate.  And who better to fulfill a starving appetite than a five-star chef who’s saving the family restaurant and could make her an instant grandma?

But will an unexpected encounter with Chase satiate their appetites or leave them hungry for more . . .
